Spraying, direct injection and by Brush

Advice for restorers, carpenters and pest control professionals

Beams and Tie-beams

Beginning at one of the edges supporting the wall, bore holes with a 2 mm bit as close to the wall as possible. The number of perforations will depend on the width of each face of the beam or tie-beam, with a minimum of 2 holes distributed along the width of each face. Continue moving forward towards the other edge, leaving a separation between holes along the length of the beam or tie-beam of around 30 to 50 cm, then inject Red Demon Professional Use into the drilled holes. The product dosage will vary depending on the type of treatment, whether it may be preventive or curative, and the degree of penetration desired. Subsequent to the injection of Red Demon Professional Use into the varnish/paint-free beams and/or tie-beams, spray the surface with Red Demon Professional Use using a spray nozzle. Adjust the spray in order to optimise the coating and thus combat or prevent attacks by xylophagous insects.

Wood floor- and wall-coverings

Inject Red Demon Professional Use into the holes bored by the insects, spacing the injections by leaving a distance of 20 to 25 cm between holes. In areas without holes, make small perforations with a 2 mm bit in the least visible places, leaving the above-mentioned minimum distance between the holes, then inject Red Demon Professional Use. Eliminate any excess product with a soft linen or cotton cloth without rubbing.

Furniture

Follow the same process employed for wooden wall- and floor-coverings. Sprayed the varnish/lacquer/paint free areas of the furniture, such as the lower and rear sections, using a spray nozzle and adjusting the spray in order to obtain the desired dispersion. In the event of the furniture being free of any type of finishing product, such as varnishes, lacquers, paints, etc., spray the whole exterior surface. Eliminate any excess product with a soft linen or cotton cloth without rubbing.

Doors, Windows and their Frames

Follow the method described above and eliminate any excess product with a soft linen or cotton cloth without rubbing.

Picture frames

Proceed in the same way as the previously described examples, except that the treatment must always be applied to the back of the frame.

When using a spray nozzle, adjust the nozzle in order to obtain a very fine spray. Avoid all contact between the product and the canvas.
The frame stretcher may be treated by injection and/or spraying. Again, avoid all contact between the product and the canvas. Eliminate any excess product with a soft linen or cotton cloth without rubbing.

Sculptures, Images and other works of art

Employ the same application method as that described in the previous sections. Extreme care must be taken during the treatment of such objects, given that the majority have been treated with highly sensitive finishing products, such as: paints, gold-leaf, etc. In the event of the product entering into contact with such finishes, clean the surface of the object with a soft linen or cotton cloth without rubbing.
