1. What kind of equipment is needed to apply RED DEMON products and where can I get them?
The equipment needed to apply our products will vary according to the application method chosen: spraying, injection, brushing, industrial autoclave, etc. In the “Application and dosage” section on this page you'll find a detailed description for each method. To acquire any of the equipment, you can contact ADVERSUS S.L., who will gladly recommend to you the best-suited method according to each specific case and where to buy the necessary equipment. It is important to remember that for the proper and effective application of RED DEMON products the best course is using the systems and equipment ADVERSUS S.L. has developed for that purpose. All this equipment is available together with RED DEMON products and can be purchased at the same time.
2. How is it possible for the product to be 100% effective using such a small dosage?
The key to effectiveness of the product is its extremely high capacity for penetrating the wood, due to the composition of the vehicle transporting the active ingredients to the very heart of the wood itself, where they remain for an indefinite period of time. This penetration capacity can reach up to the Category 4 risk level without needing to use industrial autoclaves. It is certified by tests performed in independent laboratories accredited by ENAC under the EN 351-1: 1995 standard.
3. ¿What factors should I take into account in determining the product dosage I need to apply in each case?
The different variables to consider are:
- Degree of penetration desired
- If the treatment is preventive or curative
- Type of pest to repel
- Degree of infestation in the wood

4. How long should I wait before going into places where the product has been applied?
When the state Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs issued the certificate registering our product, they stipulated a recommended safety period of 12 hours. It's also important to remember that the locations should be adequately ventilated before going back inside them.
5. ¿Does the product also penetrate as deeply into woods that aren't very absorbent?
The product has an incredible penetration capacity, no matter what kind of wood or the hardness of the wood it is used on. Logically, the dosage to apply will vary according to the absorption ability of the wood to treat and the degree of penetration desired.
6. How can a company which is such a relative newcomer in the Spanish market offer a 25-year guarantee?
The owner of ADVERSUS S.L. and developer of the products has been experimenting and improving Red Demon products for over 30 years, including treatments applied to various buildings that form part of the historical heritage of Spain, Europe, Latin America and the United States. As of today, no wood pest has re-attacked the sites where the treatments were applied, which certifies the effectiveness of the product over this time period.
7. ¿ How long should I wait before applying wood finishes like varnishes or paints to woods that have been treated with any Red Demon product?
Due to the amazing speed with which wood absorbs our products, the application of wood finishes like lacquers, varnishes or paints can be done just a few minutes after Red Demon products have been applied.
8. ¿ Can the heartwood be attacked by wood-eating pests?
It is a fairly common error to believe that the hardest kinds of wood, and the heartwood sections themselves, can't be attacked by wood-eating pests. While it is true that the first preference of these pests will be the softer woods, there is nothing to stop them from attacking other kinds in their absence.
9. Does applying Red Demon products alter some properties of the wood, like colour, texture or degree of strength, for example?
Applying Red Demon products doesn't change or alter the colour or texture of the wood. The strength should increase after applying the product. That's why are they are the only wood protectors against wood-eating organisms in the world specifically recommended for furniture and wood exposed to external attacks, and wood for structures as well.
10. Isn't it unhealthy to live in a house that has been treated with a Red Demon product?
Due to the extremely high penetration and retention capacity of the product, the treated wood is harmless to human beings, making it usable in homes, hospitals and other public buildings without posing any health risk.
